今年，是英國《衛(wèi)報》（The Guardian）衛(wèi)報大學獎（Guardian University Awards）第六年承認那些激發(fā)學生和改變社區(qū)的英國大學。
2018衛(wèi)報大學獎（The Guardian University Awards 2018）旨在慶祝英國大學的多元化機構(gòu)，以及他們?yōu)闈M足包容性多樣化數(shù)字世界的需求而進行更新的創(chuàng)新方式。或許恰當?shù)卣f，社會和社區(qū)影響（Social and community impact）是今年提交數(shù)量最多的類別。
來自斯旺西大學（Swansea University）的獲獎作品通過由員工和學生組成的開放式診所幫助填補了當?shù)豊HS服務的空白。提交數(shù)字緊隨其后的是學生體驗（student experience）類別，該類別被授予薩里大學（University of Surrey）內(nèi)部的學生出租機構(gòu)，旨在解決當?shù)氐母咦饨饐栴}。
今年還推出了幾個新類別，以反映不斷變化的高等教育環(huán)境。
為了承認擴大大學參與的重要性日益增加，學生多樣性被分為兩大類：擴大獲取和拓展（Widening access and outreach）以及保留，支持和學生成果（retention, support and student outcomes）。
